How to Prepare for your Tattoo

● Tattoo preparation starts as soon as we book the tattoo! It’s important to start moisturizing the area of skin that we will be working on. This will make the process much easier for soaking up that ink, as well as the healing process!

● HYDRATE! Hydration is crucial for the skin and the rest of your body. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water the days leading up and especially the night before.

● Wear sunscreen to avoid getting sunburnt! I cannot and will not tattoo over sunburnt skin.

● Please DO NOT take pain relievers such as: aspirin and ibuprofen. This will cause your blood to thin which can result in your tattooing healing poorly. Please let Hadley know if you are taking any blood thinning medications. And make sure your doctor approves of you getting tattooed.

● Avoid drinking alcohol the days leading up to the tattoo. Alcohol thins the blood and will make the process difficult for Hadley. The more the client bleeds, the more the blood will dilute the ink. Which could result in a less vibrant tattoo. The swelling will intensify and you as the client will ultimately be in more pain.

● Get plenty of sleep the night before. You want to be well rested for the long session.

● EAT FOOD! This is definitely one of the most important ones to remember. Try to eat a good dinner the night before, BUT, the morning of, it is crucial that you eat a big breakfast. We need those blood sugar levels to be stable, to avoid dizziness and passing out.

What You Can Bring:

● Hadley will be taking a small lunch break at some point during the session. She encourages bringing a packed lunch, snacks, and water!

● You are In for a long day, so be COMFY. Wear comfortable clothes that you can lay in for hours.

● Smoking and vaping is not permitted indoors. Smoke breaks can be taken outside :)

● If you want, bring a pillow and blanket! Hadley can’t offer you a blanket, so she encourages you to bring your own!

● Make sure your phone is fully charged (or bring a charger). Bring a set of headphones for music or anything for entertainment related.

What to Expect From Hadley’s Sessions:

● Hadley will start off with prepping the skin! She will disinfect the skin and shave the area.

● Then she will print out the stencil and you guys will agree on the placement. The stencil can be placed as many times as needed! Please don’t hesitate to speak up :)

● Then the long process of the tattoo begins! She will start with the line-work and after that point numbing spray can be used.

● Hadley wears headphones during some parts of the process. But she is also a yapper and loves to chat! Let her know what makes you comfortable during the process.

● Hadley will be taking stretch breaks throughout the session. Let her know if you ever need one!

● Please let her know if you are ever feeling dizzy or lightheaded. You may want to tough it out, but it’s important not to push the body too far. Sometimes the body goes into shock and shuts down. After that point, it’s crucial that the session stops. It’s totally okay if another session needs to be scheduled to finish the project.

● Once the session is completed for the day, she will take photos of the work. Then Hadley will THOROUGHLY walk you through aftercare and answer any questions you have.

● Once everything is finished, the service will be paid for and you walk out with a bomb tattoo!
